What we do

Shoal Current Trading is a seafood trading and brokerage house. We take the commercial risk out of long-haul frozen trade by staying involved at both ends of the shipment.

Sourcing in Africa

Selling into Asia

Handling the middle

Two coasts, one desk

African fisheries produce species that Asian markets buy in volume: octopus, cuttlefish, squid, sardinella, horse mackerel, croaker, sole and tuna.

How a shipment moves

Five stages, and you hear from us at each one.

  1. Enquiry and specification

You tell us species, size grade, pack, volume and destination port. We confirm what is realistic for the season.

  2. Sourcing and firm offer

We check availability at approved plants, then send a firm offer naming the plant, pack, glaze and loading window.

  3. Inspection before loading

Sizing, glaze percentage, colour, odour and packaging are checked against the contract. Photographs go to you before the container is sealed.

  4. Documents and shipping

Health certificate, catch certificate, certificate of origin, bill of lading and packing list are prepared and released against agreed payment terms.

  5. Arrival and follow-up

We track the vessel, share the temperature record on arrival and stay on the file until the goods are cleared and accepted.
